WE CHOOSE TO LIVE AGAINST THE FLOW

We Abide In Christ

We believe that while symptoms in life must be cared for, true transformation happens when the root is addressed. Brokenness, pain, confusion and sin are real-but the answer is not found simply in behavior modification. The answer is always JESUS.

"I am the vine; you are the branches..apart from me you can do nothing." -John 15:5

We Live Surrendered

We are a people committed to going UPSTREAM-rejecting passive faith and choosing intentional pursuit of God. We are not content in drifting spiritually. We are called to live, grow and move with purpose.

What We Believe

We believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God. It is trustworthy, without error in its original writings, and the final authority in all matters of faith, doctrine, and life. Through Scripture, God reveals Himself, His will, and His redemptive plan for humanity. (2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21; Psalm 119:105; Matthew 24:35)

We believe there is one true God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is holy, sovereign, loving, just, and unchanging. He is the Creator of all things and actively involved in His creation. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Isaiah 46:9–10; Colossians 1:16–17)

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, and proclaimed the Kingdom of God. He died on the cross as the substitute for our sins, was physically raised from the dead, and is now exalted at the right hand of the Father. He will return again in power and glory. (John 1:1, 14; Colossians 2:9; Matthew 1:23; Hebrews 4:15; Acts 2:22; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Hebrews 1:3; Acts 1:9–11)

We believe the Holy Spirit is the active presence of God in the world today. He convicts of sin, regenerates the believer, and dwells within all who are in Christ.

(John 14:16–17; John 16:7–14; Titus 3:5; Romans 8:9–11)

We believe the Holy Spirit empowers believers to live holy lives and to carry out the mission of God.

(Acts 1:8; Galatians 5:16–25)

We affirm that all Scripture is true and authoritative, and that everything the Bible teaches concerning the work and gifts of the Holy Spirit remains relevant for today. The gifts of the Spirit—including, but not limited to, tongues, healing, and prophecy—are given by God for the building up of the Church and the advancement of His mission.

(1 Corinthians 12:4–11; Romans 12:4–8; Ephesians 4:11–13; Mark 16:17–18)

We believe these gifts are given according to the will of the Holy Spirit and are not earned, manufactured, or produced through human effort. They are to be received with humility, stewarded with faithfulness, and exercised in love, order, and submission to Scripture.

(1 Corinthians 12:11; 1 Corinthians 13:1–7; 1 Corinthians 14:12, 26, 33, 40; James 1:17)

We reject any teaching or practice that attempts to manipulate, imitate, or elevate spiritual gifts as a measure of spiritual worth, maturity, or authority. No single gift is the evidence of salvation, nor is any gift required as proof of the Holy Spirit’s presence in a believer’s life.

(1 Corinthians 12:29–30; Ephesians 2:8–9; Galatians 3:2–3)

We believe the fullness of the Holy Spirit is not demonstrated by outward expression alone, but by a life increasingly conformed to Christ in character, obedience, and love.

(Galatians 5:22–23; John 15:4–5; Romans 8:29)

At the same time, we do not limit or dismiss the work of the Holy Spirit, but seek to remain open, discerning, and obedient to His leading as revealed in Scripture.

(1 Thessalonians 5:19–21; 1 John 4:1)

We believe that all people are created in the image of God and therefore have inherent value and dignity. However, through sin, humanity is separated from God and unable to restore that relationship on its own. All people are in need of salvation. (Genesis 1:26–27; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:2; Romans 5:12)

We believe salvation is a gift of God’s grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ alone. It is not earned by works but results in a transformed life. Through repentance and faith, a person is forgiven, made new, and reconciled to God. We believe true salvation produces ongoing growth in holiness. (Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 10:9–10; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Titus 3:5; John 3:16; Philippians 1:6; Hebrews 12:14)

We believe the Church is the body of Christ, made up of all believers, called to worship God, grow in spiritual maturity, and live on mission together. We believe the local church is a visible expression of this body, devoted to teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread, prayer, and the advancement of the Gospel. (1 Corinthians 12:12–13; Acts 2:42–47; Hebrews 10:24–25; Ephesians 4:15–16)

We believe baptism by immersion is an outward expression of an inward transformation and a public declaration of faith in Jesus Christ. We believe the Lord’s Supper is a sacred practice remembering the death and resurrection of Jesus and proclaiming His return. (Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:3–4; Acts 2:38; Luke 22:19–20; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26)

We believe that following Jesus involves surrender, obedience, and transformation by the Holy Spirit. Believers are called to live lives marked by love, humility, generosity, holiness, and devotion to God. This includes both personal sanctification and active participation in God’s mission in the world. (Luke 9:23; Romans 12:1–2; Galatians 2:20; Colossians 3:12–17; James 1:22)

We believe the Church is called to make disciples of all nations, empowered by the Holy Spirit.

(Matthew 28:18–20; Acts 1:8)

We are sent to proclaim the Gospel, care for others, and live as a distinct people who reflect the Kingdom of God in everyday life.

(Matthew 5:14–16; Micah 6:8; 1 Peter 2:12)

We believe God Himself draws people to Himself, and in His mercy chooses to work through surrendered believers as His witnesses. As we pray and yield to His leading, He sends us to be His hands and feet, so that others may encounter the love and truth of the Father through the message of the Gospel and the testimony of transformed lives.

(John 6:44; Romans 10:13–15; 2 Corinthians 5:20; Isaiah 6:8)

We believe Jesus Christ continues His work on the earth through His Church. By the gift of the Holy Spirit—our Helper and Advocate—believers are empowered to walk in obedience and to carry forward the mission of Christ until His return.

(John 14:12, 16–17, 26; Philippians 2:13)

Christ is alive and active today, dwelling within those who confess Him as Lord and Savior. It is His life in us, not our own strength, through which the world comes to see and know Him.

(Colossians 1:27; Galatians 2:20; John 15:5)

We believe Jesus Christ will return again personally and visibly. There will be a final judgment, and all people will spend eternity either in the presence of God or separated from Him. This reality compels us toward faithful living and urgent mission. (Matthew 24:30; 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; Revelation 20:11–15; John 14:2–3)

We hold firmly to the essential truths of the Christian faith while allowing freedom in non-essential matters. We seek to walk in humility, love, and unity as we pursue the will of God together. (Ephesians 4:2–6; Romans 14:1–4; Colossians 3:13–14)
